One of the wonderful things about yoga is that you can do it anywhere and any time. During these strange and restrictive weeks, yoga is the perfect tool to help us keep healthy, energised and calm. No fancy equipment is needed - just a mat (although even this isn't a prerequisite). And you. Just as you are. With whatever is going on and however you feel. Yoga doesn't judge. It loves you just as you are. Tired, overwhelmed, anxious, resistant, overweight, underweight, open, closed - its all good in the eyes of a yoga practice. Just stepping on the mat is huge part of the journey. This is a space entirely for you. To come back to the truth of who you really are. Your yoga mat is a place that can help shed the layers. The demands on our time and energy . All the roles we play - partner, parent, daughter, son, employer, employee... And now the added strain of a pandemic lock down which is effecting everyone in very different ways. There are some fantastic yoga classes online including those perfect for beginners. Most of the existing yoga centres are offering live online classes at the moment and these can be surprisingly connecting. The live aspect offers something a little more present and inclusive and of course helps to support small businesses in the current conditions. Tough times can open new doors when we look for ways to cope with big changes. More than ever, we need to take care of ourselves and yoga is a powerful and nurturing tool for self care.
